Tamir Israel
Tamir is staff lawyer with the Samuelson-Glushko Canadian Internet Policy & Public Interest Clinic (CIPPIC) at the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law. His digital rights advocacy includes parliamentary testimony, participation in regulatory proceedings, interventions at various levels of court and interjections to a range of Internet governance mechanisms. His research interests are driven by social justice considerations, and cover diverse subject matter arising at the intersection of law and technology, with a focus on privacy, intermediary liability, consumer rights and national security. Tamir holds a B.A. from the University of British Columbia and a J.D. from the University of Toronto, and has lectured on Internet regulation matters at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Graduate & Post-doctoral Studies.
