Ivor Shapiro is a emeritus professor and former chair of the School of Journalism at Toronto Metropolitan University, where he has taught feature reporting and media ethics. His research is in the professional practice and attitudes of journalists. As a magazine journalist, he was a contributing editor of Saturday Night magazine and managing editor of Chatelaine. He is a former chair of the ethics committee of the Canadian Association of Journalists, and was the founding editor of J-Source. His latest book is The Disputed Freedoms of a Disrupted Press (Routledge)
