As the former Director of Collections and Membership Services at the Toronto Public Library, Susan Caron was an advocate for better access for North American libraries to digital content, and took a leading role in public advocacy campaigns, speaking and publishing frequently on the topic. She was also responsible for supporting the Library’s commitment to intellectual freedom and has served on the Canadian Federation of Library Associations’ Intellectual Freedom Committee and Ryerson University’s Centre for Free Expression Working Group on Intellectual Freedom. She will continue to work in these areas as a Senior Fellow of the Centre for Freedom of Expression.
