Peter S. McInnis

Peter S. McInnis is Associate Professor and Chair of History at St Francis Xavier University and specializes in labour and working-class studies. McInnis has served on the editorial board of the journal Labour/Le Travail for over twenty years. He is Vice-President of the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT) and was formerly Chair of CAUT's Academic Freedom & Tenure Committee. McInnis is a past president of the StFX faculty union and currently vice-president of the Association of Nova Scotia University Teachers (ANSUT). He is interested in the historical development of academic freedom and the role of public intellectuals in civic dissent.
