Marcellus Turner

Marcellus Turner, known throughout the profession as MT is a veteran librarian with a storied career as a librarian, executive director and CEO. Known for his leadership at the helms of The Seattle Public Library (2020 Library of the Year) and the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library, Marcellus has provided vision and direction to the libraries and communities of these urban cities. Turner is also known nationally and internationally as a speaker, presenter and guest lecturer on libraries, librarianship and the future of libraries.

In addition, MT has worked in public libraries in Jefferson County, CO, Rockford, IL, Tacoma, WA and Atlantic City, NJ as well as academic libraries in Chattanooga, TN and Lake Charles, LA.

He holds a master's degree in library science from the University of Tennessee.
