Join FCAD for a play reading about whistleblowing “NormaLeeDean” by Catherine Frid 

Reading to be followed by panel discussion with: 

Joanna Gualtieri 

Dr. Nancy Olivieri

Gualtieri is currently the Director of Federal Accountability Initiative for Reform (FAIR). A lawyer and former property developer, Gualtieri was also an employee in the bureau of physical resources with the Department for Foreign Affairs where she discovered lavish extravagance in the purchase of staff accommodation abroad. Her allegations were supported by the Inspector General and Auditor General of Canada.

 An internationally renowned expert on blood disorders, Olivieri is a professor of paediatrics, medicine and public health sciences at the University of Toronto. She has fought a high-profile, 18-year battle with a major pharmaceutical company and the Hospital for Sick Children related to concerns she raised about the safety and effectiveness of a new drug to treat a major blood disorder.

This event is part of a series of special activities being held during the 2014 -2015 academic year.
